A student of yoga since 1985,
Cathy Harmon received yoga teacher training from Namaste International,
earning her 500-hour certification in 2004. She is an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance (E-RYT 500) and has taught over 2000 hours of yoga classes since 2004.
Most recently, Cathy completed Professional Yoga Therapist training in August 2009 with Yoga Therapists Joseph LePage and Maria KaliMa of Integrative Yoga Therapy. Recognizing and supporting Yoga as an established therapy, Cathy is also a member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists. IAYT.org
Cathy teaches a style of yoga inspired by the work of Vanda Scaravelli, author of Awake
ning the Spine. Vanda Scaravelli began to practice yoga when she was in her mid-40's, and found such release and joy in yoga that it changed her life. Cathy is fortunate to have studied yoga with Irene Beer, Diane Long and the late Esther Myers, all of whom were Vanda's students.
Classes with Cathy are light-hearted and compassionate. "I want people to feel good in their bodies," she says. Cathy's classes are an amalgam of her many years of learning, teaching and practicing.
