Interested in yoga, but don't know where to start? Beginning Yoga is the place!
In this series, explore approximately 30 foundation poses (asanas), practice several breath patterns (pranayamas) and experience basic meditation. Gain awareness of your breath and body, learning how to move more efficiently, safely, easily and happily. This 6-week series will give you the basics so that you're comfortable stepping into other yoga classes, working with yoga DVDs at home, and, yes, even practicing yoga on your own!
Beginning Yoga is also an excellent refresher for anyone just returning to yoga practice. Welcome back to your mat!  Classes are progressive, with each week building on the asana (poses) and pranayama (breathwork) of the week before. By completion of the series, students will have experience with backbends, forward bends, twists, balance poses and basic inversions, as well as several breathing patterns and simple meditation.
Beginning Yoga may be repeated, or you may attend other yoga classes after completion of the series.

Beginning Yoga requires pre-registration so that we may have enough handouts. This series is subject to cancellation if registration minimums are not met.
